How To Encode Videos For Ipod Using EncodeHD

This may be the simplest way in existence to encode videos for your iPod Classic/Touch/Phone etc. The secret is EncodeHD.

1)

Okay then, let’s get started. First off, run the program (duh). You will be presented with a screen similar to the one below.

2)

In the top left corner, go to the drop down and select your desired profile.

There are multiple profiles available, but for this tutorial we will stick with the iPod Classic profile, as that is the device that I own.

3)

Next, simply drag and drop any files that you want to encode onto the white area. Another option is to use the small “+” symbol in the upper right-hand corner. Pressing it will present you with the customary file selection menu that many of you are used to.

4)

When you have all of the files that you wish to encode queued up, simply press the start button and you will see a progress bar jetting along like the one below.

When everything is finished, enjoy your freshly encoded vids!

Small Tip: If you want to encode a bunch of videos and have them all end up in the same folder, use the Specify Output Folder option to set a destination.

    Hi,
I cannot use this software for any large size AVI file (about 900MB), this software will not open the avi larger files. It keeps giving me error message : cannot locate the size of the file, or the file is corrupt… I swear that the avi larger file is not corrupted at all, I can play it without any problem. Please fix the BUGS in this software ASAP.

Uh, I think that you have misunderstood my post. I did not create EncodeHD, just a tutorial for it. See the link at the beginning of my post to navigate to the real author’s site, and post a proper bug report.

trying to convert typical 1048574 vob file and all I get is “unable to determine the video duration, it’s possible that the file you are attempting to read is corrupt”. file works otherwise.

but this was on a DVD Shrink treated vob. other vobs seem to be working.

It works fine here. Make sure that you are using the latest version. I am away from my main computer, so I can’t test it completely, but it should work fine. See the author’s site for more info if you have continued problems.
